In most cases, the dealer will draw an additional card to their hand if it is valued at 16 or less. If they have a 17 or more, then they will usually stand (not draw cards). The dealers’s decision is based on the rules of their casino and the type of blackjack they are playing.
Some casinos will change the payout on a blackjack from 3 to 2 to 6 to 5, which increases the house edge and makes counting cards more difficult. It is important for a player to know the rules of their casino before they start playing.
The game is played on a semicircular table that can accommodate different numbers of players. Some tables will only accommodate seven players, while others can have up to 12 players. The dealers are located behind the table and chip rack, while the players sit around the outside of the circle.
Depending on the rules of the casino, some blackjack games may require that the dealer deal two cards to the players and then one to themselves. This is a variation on the game, and some players like to play this way because it increases their chance of winning.
In blackjack, the dealer must reveal their hole card after all players have acted.
