You’ve probably heard of the game of dominoes. The rectangular tiles that make up the game have two square ends and are marked with spots. Game pieces

The similarity of domino and chess lies in the fact that both games have a checkmate objective, while domino uses random points. In both games, players place dominoes on a chessboard to cover one of its edges. In addition, the centers of 64 chess positions are treated as vertices, and neighboring vertices are joined together by edges. The game is popular among Russian communities in the United States and abroad, and is often played by large groups of older men in their free time. In both cases, the games are largely recreational, and are generally played outside.
Similarity to billiards

The game of checkers dates back several thousand years, to ancient Egypt. The ancient Egyptian tombs contained the squared board and familiar-looking checkers pieces. Plato, the Greek philosopher, referred to checkers in his work “The Republic” in 360 B.C., asking whether a skilled player is a better partner than a mediocre one. Even though checkers’ popularity faded with the Hellenic world, the game resurfaced in Renaissance Europe, with the first rule manual published in 1549.
